What a laborer did under the influence of alcohol in Pauri district of Uttarakhand is heart-wrenching. She allegedly killed her three-month-old son by throwing him into a ditch and then committed suicide by jumping into it. Police gave this information on Thursday.
The incident took place on Tuesday when there was a heated argument between the deceased, 30-year-old Lalit and his wife, living in Daboli village of Lansdowne area.
According to officials, Lalit was addicted to alcohol and had an argument with his wife Kamala on Tuesday evening. After this she left the house saying that she was going back to her village with her three-month-old child. Seeing this, Lalit became angry and allegedly snatched the child from his wife’s lap and threw it in a ditch on the roadside.
After the incident, the couple tried to find their child, but to no avail. An officer said that in despair Lalit also jumped into the ditch. He told that the villagers saved him and took him to the primary health centre, but on reaching there he was declared dead.
