A CCTV video has surfaced just before the horrific bus accident in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh, in which a bike rider can be seen driving recklessly. It is being told that after the collision with this bike, the bus caught fire and 20 people died in this horrific accident.

This video was recorded at a petrol pump at around 2:23 am on October 24. In this, the accused bike rider Shiva Shankar can be seen parking the bike with his friend near the petrol dispenser and then going back staggering after some time. According to eyewitnesses and police, Shiva Shankar was drunk at that time.

Police investigation has revealed that he was the same bike rider who collided with the private bus going to Bengaluru. The fuel cap of the bike was open at the time of the collision, due to which the fire broke out after the collision and within a few minutes the bus was engulfed in flames. This accident happened near Chinnatekuru village of Kurnool district.

There were 44 passengers in the bus

There were 44 passengers in the bus, out of which 19 passengers and the bike rider burnt to death. The remaining passengers somehow managed to get out by breaking the windows. This bus belonged to V. Kaveri Travels Company and was registered in Daman and Diu.

According to eyewitnesses, after the collision, the fire first broke out in the front part of the bus and within a few minutes the entire bus was engulfed in flames. The bus was at high speed at the time of the incident.

The bus driver had fled from the spot

According to the police, the bus driver Miriyala Lakshmaiah (42) jumped out from the passenger door to save his life. After that he woke up the assistant driver and both of them tried to save some passengers by breaking the windows with an iron rod. However, the fire started spreading rapidly and the driver fled from the spot. Later the police took him into custody.

Police have registered a case against the driver under sections 125(A) (endangering human life) and 106(1) (causing death by negligence) of the Indian Penal Code.

The documents of the bus company have been seized by the police and the fire safety system is being investigated.

Formation of committee for high level investigation

meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Wangalapudi Anita has announced that a high-level inquiry committee comprising officials from the transport, road and revenue departments will be formed. He said that after the completion of the investigation, its detailed report will be submitted to Chief Minister N. Will be handed over to Chandrababu Naidu.

The dead will be identified through DNA

Health Minister Satyakumar Yadav said that DNA samples are being collected to identify the deceased. He has instructed Kurnool GGH Superintendent to provide best treatment to the injured patients. Preparations are being made for postmortem of the dead bodies and forensic doctors are on the spot. 12 people are hospitalized with minor injuries, of which 6 have been discharged after first aid. A person was seriously injured while jumping from the bus but his condition is stable.
