Recreation Informer has reached out to S-Recreation for a remark or assertion on why the VO was modified and can replace this story if it learns extra.
I can pull again the curtains a bit on how last-minute this alteration seemingly was for Phantom Blade Zero. For many of my time taking part in Phantom Blade Zero for evaluation (you possibly can learn it right here), Soul was nonetheless voiced by Maksenuk. I wasn’t the largest fan of the English VO on the time, so I performed many of the recreation utilizing its glorious Chinese language VO. Nevertheless, a few week into the evaluation interval for Phantom Blade Zero, developer S-Recreation advised me the VO for Soul had been up to date (the workforce had beforehand stated this replace would occur forward of time).
S-Recreation did not say why or who on the time, however after listening to it post-update, it was clear to me it was Smith; his voice is iconic and laborious to overlook. I used to be mainly on the finish of the sport at that time, so I did not get to listen to an excessive amount of, however total, I like Smith’s inclusion as Soul’s VO.
Nonetheless, in case you’re leaping into Phantom Blade Zero at launch, the Soul you play as will probably be voiced solely by Smith. Tell us within the feedback what you consider it after you’ve got had a while with it!
