Rather less than two minutes of video depicting what seems to be loads like a contemporary model of Sega and Atlus’ unique Persona sport was first published on Reddit earlier than being unfold round numerous social media platforms right this moment. The builders behind the RPG franchise have broached the subject of remakes for early installments up to now however by no means confirmed work was underway, that means this could possibly be our first take a look at the sequence’ subsequent remake.
The unique publish says the footage is tied to a Persona: Be Your True Thoughts remake. Within the age of AI-generated fakes, you possibly can by no means be too skeptical about issues like this, however followers usually appear to be below the impression that the footage is genuine. There are just a few causes gamers suspect this to be our first glimpse at a not-so-secret Persona 1 remake from Atlus. Other than the music, results, and artwork, which all fall proper according to a lot of the studio’s current work, the video on show is for much longer and extra detailed than any pretend leak would sometimes be. The smoking gun for a lot of, although, is the character animations.
It is particularly Eriko that persons are calling out, as she appears to share a summoning animation with Persona 4 Revival‘s model of Yukiko. Atlus’ Persona 4 remake, after all, will not be out till February 18, 2027. There’s additionally the problem of the looks of Persona 2 protagonist Tatsuya, who appears to be standing in for what could also be an unfinished character mannequin.
So, what can we make of all of this? Nicely, sadly, with out affirmation from Sega or Atlus, not a lot. There’s all the time the possibility this could possibly be an elaborate pretend, with a few of these odd particulars serving as proof for that argument. Then again, it is doable placeholder property and acquainted animations are right here particularly as a result of the alleged Persona 1 remake remains to be very a lot in growth.
Persona 1 leak seems to be credible, unsure why persons are reporting Tatsuya is changing Masao, that is simply full bogus.
That is more than likely an inner investor pitch for remakes of Persona 1 and a pair of, and never really Persona 1.
There are Persona 4 Revival animations within the gameplay footage, which undoubtedly helps the case of it being actual.

IGN has reached out to Sega for remark.
If the Persona: Be Your True Thoughts remake footage is genuine, it would not be the most important shock to see it introduced. Sega launched its Persona 3 remake, Persona 3 Reload, in 2024, and can launch Persona 4 Revival in only a few months. Atlus’ P-Studio producer, Kazuhisa Wada, stopped short of confirming development for Persona 1 and 2 remakes in August of this 12 months however nonetheless admitted that, so far as he is involved, it is one thing “we’ve to do.”
In the meantime, Atlus has completely suffered leaks earlier than. The Persona 3 remake had in-development footage questioned by followers when it showed up online again in 2023. The upcoming Persona 6, which, formally, we have seen little of to date, had images leak in June. A large Steam leak in September then seemingly revealed a list of trophies – together with story spoilers – for the upcoming installment.
