MIAMI, Fla. (CBS12) — Miami has a brand new addition to its skyline — a large pink “Welcome to Vice Metropolis” signal on high of the Kaseya Heart.
The signal was put in Tuesday, with a helicopter lifting the letters into place one after the other, in line with video from WPLG.
The signal is a part of a deal between Miami-Dade County and Rockstar Games, the developer behind the Grand Theft Auto online game collection.
The settlement is supposed to capitalize on Miami’s connection to the fictional Vice City, the Miami-inspired setting of the upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI.

County officers say the deal will herald almost $1 million in income and create extra advertising alternatives.
The signal comes as anticipation builds for GTA VI, which is scheduled to be launched Nov. 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Collection XS.
The sport will return gamers to Vice Metropolis, this time inside the fictional state of Leonida.
So for now, Miami has a large pink reminder that the sport’s launch is getting nearer.
