In the event you’re not taking part in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, then to cite Nintendo exec Reggie Fils-Aime: what’s fallacious with you?
I do know there are contentious points behind how SNK is getting funded, however as a fighter, this recreation is fairly unprecedented.
It’s been including new characters at an outrageous tempo, and its roster is about to get even higher with the addition of Tekken 8’s Reina.
A minimum of, followers suppose they’ve noticed the purple-haired Mishima member of the family in a brand new “when destinies collide” trailer – that’s positively her silhouette within the background.
In accordance with the sport’s roadmap, she’ll be the sixth and ultimate addition to the Season 3 roster, following Laocorn in November.
However lengthy earlier than then, two Tokyo Revengers cameos will take the highlight: Manjiro ‘Mikey’ Sano and Ken ‘Draken’ Ryuguji are arriving on twenty second October, alongside some recreation updates.
Right here’s what the press launch reveals:
“Mikey and Draken faithfully carry the world and spirit of Tokyo Revengers to life by way of character-authentic strikes, animations, and particular intros, whereas seamlessly integrating with Deadly Fury: Metropolis of the Wolves‘ distinctive gameplay techniques. The result’s an exciting crossover filled with intense, action-filled battles. For the Japanese voice observe, the anime’s authentic solid returns, with Yu Hayashi as Mikey and Katsuya Fukunishi as Draken. Their acquainted performances and dynamic chemistry additional carry this dream collaboration to life.”
Like most Deadly Fury DLC, there’ll be arcade arcs for each Mikey and Draken, whereas the characters will get a shared Episodes of South City marketing campaign, involving Krauser and Rock.
The help for this recreation because it was launched a bit over a 12 months in the past has been unrivalled, and I ponder whether SNK goes to keep it up into 2027, or transfer on as soon as Yr 3 has concluded.
It seems like there’s nonetheless a bit extra mileage left on this recreation to me.
