Dungeons & Dragons: World of Warcraft is not even out but, however Wizards of the Coast has already introduced its subsequent Universes Past launch for the TTRPG – and it is Star Wars.
WotC introduced that one thing Star Wars was coming to D&D again at Gen Con in July, however at NYCC 2026, it confirmed a brand new journey, Star Wars: Tyro Squadron, together with a brand new Core Guidelines enlargement for the Galaxy Far, Far Away.
The brand new Core Guidelines will possible be as massive in scope because the current World of Warcraft enlargement, with a ton of story hooks and new methods to play basic D&D lessons, however we do not know something particular. WotC did reveal some details about the Tyro Squadron journey module, nevertheless, however even then, there’s not a lot there.
In keeping with Wizards of the Coast, Tyro Squadron will let gamers “take the battle to the Empire as a part of a secret Insurgent crew. Set through the Authentic Trilogy, these new tales unfold as Luke and Leia battle their very own battles throughout the galaxy. Fly daring missions, discover new corners of the galaxy, and assist form the Revolt’s story.”
Similar to with Star Wars: Zero Firm earlier this 12 months, this new D&D marketing campaign sounds prefer it focuses on the seedy underbelly of the Star Wars universe, somewhat than the bombastic heroics of Luke & Co.
Star Wars looks like an odd partnership for Dungeons & Dragons, and it will be attention-grabbing to see how the group works issues like blasters and lightsabers into the standard high-fantasy TTRPG. However, with how effectively the group dealt with the World of Warcraft enlargement, this new partnership has at the very least piqued my curiosity.
Sadly, it looks like we’ll have to attend a bit to know precisely what Wizards has in retailer for its Star Wars partnership. It stated it’ll share extra details about the enlargement at Star Wars Celebration in April 2027.
