Might you please introduce your self and inform us about your earlier initiatives and what you get pleasure from most about sport growth?
Fabien Weibel: I studied 3D animation in France. I labored as an artwork director and director on totally different animated sequence. I labored in Paris on a venture for Rovio (Offended Birds). That they had a sequence referred to as Piggy Tales, it was a very cool expertise. Then I moved to Luxembourg to work on an animated sequence venture that I developed after I was a scholar. And round 2019, I began engaged on my first sport, Haven Park, as a part-time venture. By 2021, I created my firm to publish it. Then I labored on my second sport referred to as Trackline Specific, and now my third sport, Sandcastle. My background is usually in 3D animation, however I later taught myself sport design and sport growth.
Sandcastle constructing is a really attention-grabbing idea. Might you please share the way you got here up with this concept – perhaps some particular occasion or a spot the place you had a trip impressed you?
Fabien Weibel: It is humorous as a result of initially the sport was not about constructing sand castles. It was a a lot bigger venture and means too difficult. I made a decision to re-scope it, as a result of on the finish of final 12 months, I had been working perhaps eight or 9 months on it and I did not know the place it was going. It was getting means too difficult, and I wasn’t positive what I used to be doing with that. So in the beginning of this 12 months I mirrored on this, and I believed, “What does work on this venture, and what would not?” Then I took the one few issues that had been good, working effectively, and with which I used to be glad: the water and the sand simulation. I believed, “What sort of sport can we do with that?” It turned fairly apparent {that a} sport about constructing sand castles can be the best way to go. After I seemed on-line to see whether or not there was already the same sport, I used to be stunned there weren’t many, and I believed, “That may very well be a pleasant area of interest to go in, a cool idea to discover.” That is the way it began. So formally, the event of Sandcastle began in the beginning of this 12 months, however it had a for much longer growth course of earlier than that.
