Kojima Productions disputes reports the studio is in trouble

After it was introduced that Sony was dropping Hideo Kojima’s Physint, and that as a substitute the Metallic Gear Strong creator’s newest title can be coming to Xbox, there have been a flurry of rumors concerning the falling out. Bloomberg reported that the choice was pushed by a lot of elements, together with missed deadlines, funds and profitability issues, and its timed exclusivity.

In an interview with IGN, Kojima stated that, contemplating the broader state of the business, which has seen a lot of studios shut, he was apprehensive about the way forward for Kojima Productions:

I do know there’s a variety of information within the recreation business that many studios are closing down, many titles are canceled, and I perceive the scenario within the business as a complete. However I assumed Physint was okay. That Physint was protected. So I used to be shocked … If we lose one contract, I assumed I might need to chop all of the folks engaged on Physint, proper? Or our studio may find yourself collapsing as a result of we’ll run out of cashflow.

The corporate has now taken to social media to state that, regardless of stories about disappointing gross sales of Dying Stranding and its sequel, and the lack of funding from Sony, it’s “in a wholesome, worthwhile state.” And that, furthermore, its “relationship with PlayStation stays sturdy.”
