Again on Friday, the oldsters over at The Wall Street Journal shared a report about new Xbox boss Asha Sharma, describing her as “The Girl Fixing a Microsoft Mess With Brutal Honesty”, and getting insights into the sort of individual she is.
Most of it’s stuff we have already heard earlier than — that she’s a hard-worker, that she’s intense, that she’s been extraordinarily profitable in previous positions on the likes of Porch and Fb — and there are even feedback in right here from individuals like Bethesda’s Todd Howard who describe her as “uniquely efficient at chopping via and speaking clearly”.
What’s in all probability most attention-grabbing for us is the bit on the finish, which mentions that Sharma truly spends a number of hours per-month replying to Xbox buyer assist tickets as a way to “higher perceive gamers”.
Here is the direct quote about that:
“To raised perceive gamers, she spends a number of hours every month responding to buyer assist tickets, throughout which she’s realized how advanced it may be to repair a single participant’s drawback.”
As you’d maybe anticipate, there are already individuals on the market questioning the legitimacy of this quote and whether or not the entire thing is only a “PR piece”, however we doubt they’d throw in such a particular factor like this if there wasn’t reality to it.
Actually, Sharma herself apparently has a mantra of “readability is kindness” at Xbox, and we have actually seen that in her time in cost – she’s been clear about her mission briefings in the case of large modifications such because the “Xbox Reset“, and we have additionally began to see Xbox being praised for their transparency around Xbox Live outages.
There have been large highs and lows throughout Asha Sharma’s reign as head of Xbox to date, however the normal consensus on her appears to be constructive amongst Xbox followers as issues stand, and clearly she’s put in a ton of labor to rise up to hurry on the gaming business in a brief house of time. There is a lengthy street forward – the period of Asha is simply getting began!
