Compulsion Video games’ 2025 action-adventure recreation South of Midnight is now self-published by the studio on Steam.
The change was noticed by Respec, and could be seen on SteamDB. On August 11, 2026, the writer on the sport’s itemizing was modified from Xbox Recreation Studios to Compulsion Games.
This follows Microsoft saying that it will cut five studios and thousands of jobs in July, of which Compulsion Games was one.
Since then, studios have thanked Xbox for allowing them to go independent, and Compulsion Video games introduced that it’s looking for to collaborate with partners to develop new projects.
It’s unknown whether or not console variations of South of Midnight can even develop into self-published by Compulsion Video games, however listings on console platforms haven’t modified but.
