When Manju’s younger sister came to know about Umesh’s refusal to marry her, she got worried and went into depression and started remaining silent. Seeing this condition of her sister, Manju decided to take revenge. On the night of 16 October, when Umesh was sleeping at home, Manju reached Umesh’s room with a knife from the kitchen. Being unmarried, Umesh used to sleep in another room. Manju attacked Umesh four times with a knife and cut his private part.

Doctor Girish Mishra told that he operated for one and a half hour and Umesh’s condition is fine now. However, according to the doctor, it will take about seven-eight months for the young man to recover completely.
