A major accident was averted in Sector-76 of Noida on Friday, when suddenly a moving car caught fire. While taking a U-turn, smoke started coming out from under the car and soon the fire engulfed the entire car. The incident took place at Sector-76 U-turn of Sector-113 police station area, where the sudden flames created panic among the pedestrians.
The car driver and the people traveling in the vehicle immediately understood that the situation could worsen. Everyone somehow saved their lives by jumping out of the car. It is a matter of relief that there was no loss of life in this incident. Within a few minutes the car became a ball of fire and smoke spread on the road.
Quick action of fire brigade and police
As soon as information about the incident was received, the team of Sector-113 police station and fire brigade reached the spot. The fire unit immediately took action and brought the fire under control. However, by then the car was completely burnt to ashes. Police and fire brigade personnel said that the car was coming from Baraula and was taking a U-turn near Sector-76 when the fire broke out.
During the incident, a small fire broke out in the oil spread on the road, but the fire brigade extinguished it in time. People present at the spot said that the flames were so strong that even the traffic had stopped for some time.

Car number released, cause of fire being ascertained
Police said that the car number is UP16CX5822. At present the cause of the fire is being ascertained. Initial suspicion is that it could be a case of technical fault or fuel leakage, but the clear reason will be revealed only after investigation.
After the incident, local people also gathered at the spot. Police said that the entire situation is under control and no person was injured. This accident has alerted people that any disturbance in a moving vehicle should not be ignored.
